Do I have to use all five steps?

While each step of the METRIN Scientific Skincare program is a high quality, effective product on its own, the amazing results our customers achieve are attainable through the combined power of the steps. METRIN is called a synergistic skincare program, and that means that each step of the program is designed to compliment and contribute to the effectiveness of the others; balancing your skin is achieved through the blending of these components.

How does it work?

Step One: Deep Cleanser / Alpha Omega Cleanser

The deep cleanser uses organic sunflower oil to be effective without massage or scrubbing in a process known as colloidal cleansing. As the particles of the sunflower oil are much smaller than particles of dirt and debris that coat your skin, when lightly smoothed onto the skin, these particles flow freely around the debris and adhere to it. By removing the cleanser gently with a facecloth, impurities are effortlessly swept away and removed. This is a very gentle and effective way to remove surface soil from your skin, preparing your skin perfectly for the next step of your program: exfoliating.

Step Two: Lathering Cleanser

Your normal, healthy skin has a protective acid mantle- in other words, healthy skin is slightly acidic. As the second step in your program, the lathering cleanser is also slightly acidic on the pH scale. After lathering in your hands with water and applying to your skin, the cleanser helps float out any impurities that have ventured deeper into your pores, and works to hold any remaining bacteria inactive. When this process is repeated twice daily, the impurities in your skin have little chance of building up- leaving you with clean, clear, and healthy pores that are ready to absorb the moisture and nutrients provided in the folowing steps of the program.

Step Three: Vita Conditioner

The vita conditioner is a blended lotion, containing the essential nutritious and protective components that your skin needs to truly shine. In addition to essential fatty acids, it contains Vitamins A, C, D, E, polyunsaturates, as well as organic aloe vera to soothe your skin against environmental factors. This is the third step in your skin care program, able to penetrate deep into your pores after they have been thoroughly cleansed by the preceding two steps and giving your skin the nourishment it needs to shine.

Step Four: Protective Lotion

The protective lotion feels quite liquid to the touch- thicker than water, but much thinner than lotion. When sprayed or patted onto the surface of the skin, it acts as a toner, firming the skin and helping you achieve an even pigment. It is very soothing to irritated skin, and acts as a humectant- meaning it draws moisture into your pores, helping your skin maintain a healthy level of hydration. For men, this will be your final step- but women will continue on to step five.

Step Five: Enriched Vita Conditioner

After the protective lotion has absorbed into your skin, you will apply the final step of your program: the enriched vita conditioner. This blended lotion packs an extra punch of nutrients and protection, shielding your skin from the drying effects of the sun, wind, and soil. When you reach step five, your skin is perfectly primed to receive this extra dose of vitamins and protection.

What is the difference between the program for men and the program for women?

The men’s program is one step shorter than the women’s. The women’s program has an extra conditioner at the end to keep the skin extra smooth and moist.

Why are they different?

In our bodies, a metabolite of the hormone testosterone called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, is responsible for triggering sebaceous glands to produce oil on our skin. As men generally have significantly higher testosterone levels than women, and less estrogen to regulate its effects, their skin tends to produce more natural oils and sebum. In short, women’s skin needs a little extra moisture to stay balanced.

Do you offer an eye-cream or anti-wrinkle cream?

No. METRIN Scientific Skincare programs provide the gentle exfoliation and steady nutrition needed to help soften wrinkles. Our Vita and Enriched Conditioners are safe and effective around the eyes.

How long will a Value Pack or Stag Pack last?

If used properly according to instructions (twice daily), they should last approximately 4-6 months.

I used METRIN a long time ago. Does it have the same efficacy as when I last used it?

METRIN has not changed since its original inception in 1932! The program has worked wonderfully for over 80 years, and it is the same product you would have used in the past.

Is METRIN tested on animals? Does it contain any animal products?

METRIN is not tested on animals and contains no animal products.
